Here is the Open Letter sent by David Richardson:
The La Habra City School District Board of Trustees is conducting a confidential
search for the next District Superintendent.
Leadership Associates Executive Search Advisors, Dr. Kent Bechler and Dr. Dennis
Smith were selected by the Board to conduct the recruitment and comprehensive
search process in the selection of the district’s next leader. They will
be in our district on August 29, 2016 to solicit input that will be used to
develop the recruitment criteria. Your input about the desired personal and
professional qualities anticipated in the incoming superintendent is valued
The time set for the consultants to meet with La Habra Collaborative members
is 1:45 – 2:15 at the District Office Board Room. Please call David Richardson
at (562) 690-2308 to verify you will attend.
If you are unable to meet during the individual and small group appointment
times, you may attend the open forum. No appointment is necessary for the open
forum to be held at the La Habra City School District Office on August 29, 2016
from 5:15 – 6:15. The consultants will be asking two primary questions:
1) What are the desirable qualities, characteristics, backgraund and experiences
(professional and personal) far the next superintendent of the La Habra City
2) What do you see as the strengths of the district and the major challenges
facing the district in the years ahead?
If none of the options to meet personally with our advisors matches your schedule,
you may contact them with your response to the questions at the following:
Additionally, a link to an online survey will be available on the District
The advisors will compile a report of comments recei ved during the community
input sessions. They will share these comments with the Board and with the new
superintendent. The comments will also be used to guide the development of the
recruitment brochure, the recruitment process and reference checking.
This is one of the biggest events of Our Lady of Guadalupe and the church is busily preparing for the event and looking for sponsors and volunteers. CLICK HERE.
The La Habra Collaborative will be hosting a booth and promoting our “Move More, Eat Healthy” program.
According to Scott Miller and Tom Ybarra, these are their primary concerns:
APPLIANCES: They are in need of a WORKING griddle, deep fryers, and gently used stoves & refrigerators.
FOOD BOOTHS: Have you ever thought of having your family and friends run a food booth of your very own. Well, this is the opportunity to help your parish community AND have a great time. They are looking for authentic home-cooked food to join our food venue. Perhaps an Italian booth with meatball sandwiches or a simple pasta? Do you have a special recipe you would like to share with your Parish Community? They are open to ideas!
SPONSORSHIPS: Business Partnership Opportunities for you to think outside of the box to promote your business or to show appreciation for our Parish Community who are committed to supporting those who support them.
Do you have a DIRECT connection for items they may use or need at La Fiesta? In exchange for discounts or donations of product they will proudly promote those businesses who would like the opportunity. The connection may be for food items, paper goods and soft drinks to name a few. They are also looking for party supplies and décor as well as prizes for their games. Please don’t be shy! ANY help will be appreciated.
For more information, please call the Parish Office at 562-691-0533 or e-mail them at firstname.lastname@example.org
Thank you again for your support!

The La Habra Police Department and the City of La Habra are so excited for the upcoming National Night Out event, Tuesday August 2nd.
The event will begin at 6:00 p.m., and will end at 8:00 p.m. We ask that all booths are set-up and ready for operation by 5:30 p.m. You will be able to pull up to the park off Euclid St., and unload your vehicle during set-up time (4:00 to 5:30 p.m.). Parking is available in the parking lot located behind the Children’s Museum. A parking pass is not necessary for that parking lot.
I have attached a release and waiver pdf that I will need signed from each vendor. Please e-mail me a signed form, bring to the event, or be prepared to sign at the event.
The City of La Habra Community Services Department will be showing a Movie in the Park, Zootopia, following the event between 8:15 to 8:30 p.m. You may breakdown your booth beginning at 8:00 p.m., but we ask that if you are not staying for the movie, to please exit quietly and with the least distraction to movie attendees as possible.
I will be your contact the day of the event, and can be reached via text/voice calls on my cell phone at 714-728-3732. Please let me know if you have any questions. Please use the attached flyers/images to promote the event. We want the park inundated with people!
Excited for Tuesday, see you all then!
Thanks a bunch,
